The addition, with a footprint of 1,300 sf, contains two floors of commercial space, two apartment units, and a central circulation core. The majority of the addition is located on the 68 Putnam Street parcel, the former location of a restaurant which has since burned down. The balance of the addition is located on the 24 Caroline Street parcel, where there is existing construction to be demolished. The existing four apartments within the existing building shall be renovated, maintaining a total of four apartments. As a result of the interior renovation, four additional windows are proposed on Putnam Street. A small roof deck with shade structure is proposed on the existing roof. The project anticipates lot line consolidation of the two parcels, both currently owned by the applicant. Application Scope: By submission of this application, we are seeking DRC mass and scale approval, as well as SEQRA initiation, for the proposed development. Due to the fact that this project is largely architectural in nature, we respectfully request that the DRC consider taking the role of Lead Agency.
