We appreciate the Commission's determination of the significance of 65 and TRUSTEES COUNCIL 69 Phila Street and now write to urge the Commission to deny the owner's demolition permit, as they do not meet the requirements for demolition of a property of historic or Jan C.K.Anderson Kent Barwick architectural significance. Duncan Barrett George H. Beane William L.Bernhard The applicants fail each of the requirements for demolition approval, as outlined by the Ildiko Butler Constance L.Clapp Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation's February 10,2021 letter to the Honorable Randall T.Crawford Joan K.Davidson Jeffrey D. Wait. The Design Review Commission is obligated to consider the demolition Scott Duenow,AIA Steven C.Engelhart permit requirements in considering the owner's application. Allowing the demolition to Stephen A.Facey proceed would establish concerning precedent and go against the Saratoga Springs Brandon Fradd Lionel Goldfrank III ordinance. The applicant has a self-created hardship and continues to neglect the Roberta Brandes Gratz Christopher Holbrook buildings, not even providing basic building maintenance. Gerald A. Holbrook Anne A. Hubbard Robert J. Kafin The recent campaign to Save Our Historic Buildings with signs posted throughout Saratoga Marilynn G.Karp Roberti. Kresse Springs, as well as the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation's "heart bombing" at the Alexia J.Lippes.li Richard buildings demonstrate widespread community interest in seeing 65 and 69 Phila Street Robert B.MacKay preserved. The Preservation Foundation has repeatedly reached out to the building owners Richard A.Maitino Jean M.McCarroll recently and over the years, offering to work with potential buyers and offering technical Henry A.McCartney Norman M.Mintz assistance. There are many preservation tools at the disposal for the current or future Dede B.Nash Anne G.Older owners of 65 and 69 Phila Street. Please deny their demolition application.
