Board of Directors The vernacular front-gable house built circa 1898 is a"contributing building"to the West Adam N.Favro Side Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is located in an President Architectural Review District. James Gold The Foundation is excited that the severely deteriorated and fire damaged building that has Vice President been on the its endangered list for many years will be rehabilitated. It is particularly pleased Dmitriy Yermolayev that the owners plan to retain many of the character defining features,including preserving Treasurer the original porches and restoring the configuration of the first story porch by removing the Linda Harvey-Opiteck inappropriate enclosure as seen in the 1900 Sanborn Insurance Map (see attached). It is also Secretary pleased that the historic decorative details of the porch as well as the slate roof, fascia, soffits, and exposed rafter tails will be restored in-kind. The Foundation has no concerns with the Jaime Butler-Birley proposed lighting. Caroline Cardone Steve Dodds Giovanna D'Orazio The Foundation does not object to the removal of the chimney if it can be demonstrated that it Brennan Drake is beyond repair nor does it object to the removal of the rear addition that was built after 1950 Sandra Fox as it has been determined to be structurally unsound and retains no historic integrity. John Haller Israel Samantha Kercull The applicant proposes to install vinyl windows and doors in the historic window openings. Douglas Kerr The Foundation recommends that the windows and doors be made of wood to be in-keeping Richard King with its original historic appearance. It appears that the windows historically were one-over- StephenBillMarch one,therefore the Foundation recommends the replacement be of the same configuration. Bill McCarthyp g Dorothy Rogers-Bullis Cindy Spence The Foundation understands that proposed vinyl siding is an in-kind replacement. However, Matthew Veitch if possible,it recommends that the siding be replaced with wood, again to be in keeping with James Kettlewell its original historic appearance. emeritus The Foundation understands that this rehabilitation will be costly. Therefore,it recommends that the owners explore the New York State Historic Homeowner Tax Credits,which offers a Executive Director state income tax credit equal to 20%of qualified rehabilitation expenses associated with Samantha Bosshart repair,maintenance, and upgrades to historic homes up to a credit value of$50,000 per year.
