RE: SCPB Referral Review #20-49 Special Use Permit-Buenos Hill, Inc.
Utilization of an existing 4,240 sf garage/office building for an automotive
garage repair and sales use.
Location: Washington Street (NYS Route 29)
Received from the City of Saratoga Springs Planning Board on March 30, 2020.
Reviewed by staff and two members of the Saratoga County Planning Board on April
17, 2020.
Decision: No Significant County-wide or Intercommunity Impact
Comment: In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between
the City of Saratoga Springs Planning Board and the Saratoga County Planning Board,
the above-noted special use permit application has been reviewed by staff and with
necessary concurrence has been deemed to present no significant county-wide
impacts. We believe that the applicant has in correspondence to the city planning
board spelled out all review criteria necessary for obtaining a special use permit for
this property. While we concur with the justification provided for such permit, we do
not agree that a minor site plan review before the same board should be waived.
Additionally, we would recommend that there be discussion as to how this particular
site and the plan for its re-use address the pedestrian characteristics of the
surrounding area so noted in applicant's correspondence.
