Comments Hello, ZBA members. Thank you for your service to the City. I
am writing in regard to the area variance application for 48 Ash
Street and 38 Beekman Street. I own property at 25 and 23

Beekman Street and have resided on Beekman Street since
2001. My wide and I are delighted that the full plan includes the
renovation of 38 Beekman. Despite previous claims that the
building could not be saved, In regard to the area variance, I
have not had time to review in detail all three applications but
do think the applicant is asking for far more than should be
approved. There are no other three story buildings on Beekman
Street. I am not opposed to the idea or the current building
design, but it must be handled with care, particularly in relation
to structures immediately adjacent to this proposal. Due the
relatively short time the public was made aware of the 3
applications (last Monday evening) I urge to allow us more time
and not to vote on the project this evening.
