We are neighboring property owners on Van Dam Street and wanted to briefly share our perspective
regarding the fence at 75 Clinton Street.
From our experience as neighbors, the fence has not negatively impacted our property, use of our
property, visibility, safety, or enjoyment of the neighborhood. We have found the property owners to be
considerate neighbors and have not had concerns regarding the fence itself.

Zoning Board of Appeals,
We are writing to express our support for the proposed fence application currently under
consideration.
As residents of the neighborhood and regular drivers through the Van Dam and Clinton area, we
do not see the fence as a concern in any way. Given the heavy truck traffic and activity at that
particular intersection, we understand the need for additional protection and privacy along the
property.
From our perspective, the fence blends naturally into the surroundings. The existing trees and
greenery already soften its appearance, making it far less noticeable than one might expect. We
do not feel it detracts from the look or character of the neighborhood.
We believe the proposal is both practical and appropriate for the location and are fully in favor
of its approval.

To the Members of the Zoning Board,
I am a lifelong resident of Saratoga with deep family roots in this city. I also happen to live on
Van Dam Street near the Clifton Fazioli home. I am writing in support of the proposed fence
currently before the Board for approval.
As both a nearby neighbor and someone who frequently travels through the Van Dam and
Clinton intersection, I have no objection to the fence. In fact, I believe it is a reasonable and
necessary addition given the nature of the intersection and the significant amount of truck
traffic that regularly passes through the area.
I also believe the fence is visually unobtrusive. Because of the existing trees and landscaping
surrounding the property, the fence is well hidden and does not stand out or negatively impact
the character of the neighborhood.
Overall, I feel the fence is an appropriate improvement that enhances safety while remaining in
keeping with the surrounding area, and I fully support its approval.

We are writing in support of the variance request regarding the Fazioli-Clifton family's fence
located near the intersection of Van Dam Street and Clinton Street.
As nearby residents and frequent commuters through this area, we are very familiar with the
intersection and the heavy truck traffic that regularly passes through it. Given those conditions,
we completely understand why the family felt the fence was necessary, and we have no
objection to it remaining as it currently exists.
From our perspective, the fence does not negatively affect the neighborhood or stand out
visually. The surrounding trees and landscaping help it blend naturally into the property, and we
do not view it as an eyesore or disruption to the character of the area.
More importantly, we believe the fence serves a meaningful purpose in helping buffer the noise
and activity associated with the constant truck traffic at this intersection. Considering the
location of the property, the request feels reasonable and understandable.
For these reasons, we respectfully support approval of the requested variance.

Dear Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals:
I am writing in support of the variance application relating to the fence installed at 75 Clinton Street, Saratoga
Springs ("Property").
As a parent who sent their kids to school to Lake Avenue Elementary School, a resident, and as a real estate attorney
who frequented both this corridor and the Property, I am very familiar with the truck traffic that caused the
homeowners to erect the fence in question. With the sheer size of the trucks, noise, and frequency with which they
pass by, I truly do not know what other option the homeowners had but to preserve any semblance of peaceful
enjoyment of their property.
The trucks are loud, disruptive to a very residential neighborhood, damaging to the Clifton-Fazioli's historic home,
and a danger to the kids who reside there. As a parent, I was also particularly troubled by having my children outside
playing in close proximity to large commercial truck traffic. The fence in question provides much needed separation
and protection between the kids who frequently play in the yard on the Property, and the roadway.
Moreover, the fence is barely visible. It tastefully blends with its surroundings and is hidden well by the trees
towering over it. I am shocked that anyone would object to such a tastefully hidden barrier between one of the most
beautiful historic properties in Saratoga, and a dangerous commercial truck route.
In my opinion, the fence at this property serves a legitimate and reasonable purpose in helping mitigate the
unusually intense impacts associated with this truck route. The conditions affecting this property are not typical of a
standard residential setting, and 1 believe they warrant thoughtful consideration by the Board.

Dear Saratoga Springs Zoning Board of Appeals,
Please accept this letter in support of our neighbors Jenny Clifton and Nick Fazioli,
residents of 75 Clinton Street, Saratoga Springs.
We are frequent commuters of Van Dam and Clinton streets and have no objections to the
fencing Jenny and Nick have installed to help mitigate the visual, auditory and air quality
impacts from the heavy truck traffic on Van Dam Street. The fencing is well maintained,
well screened with vegetation and unobtrusive.
Jenny and Nick are kind, helpful and thoughtful neighbors. We feel privileged to know them
and can attest to their strength of character and the responsibility they feel towards
ensuring Saratoga Springs is a safe and welcoming community.
