RE: 489 Broadway – Exterior Changes
Dear Tamie:
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation reviewed the application for exterior
changes at 489 Broadway. The Greek Revival style commercial building, built circa 1840,
is a contributing building to the Broadway Historic District listed on the National Register
of Historic Places.
The application is incomplete. It is difficult to understand what is being proposed based
on the information provided. The application of Adirondack natural stone is not
appropriate. Additional detailed information is needed to determine if the application of
brownstone is appropriate.
