Note that we completed another tree survey on May 6th to confirm all tree conditions and sizes. Three trees we were previously looking to save were deemed either hazardous or dead (trees 8, 9, and 18). Attached are photos of those three trees. If the proposed tree replacement is acceptable, we will update the plans at the City for final stamping. Thanks. The LA Group conducted tree surveys to evaluate the condition and size of all significant trees located on the property. Attached to this memorandum is the most recent tree survey, which confirms the size and condition of each tree. Based on the tree inventory, the project proposes the removal of all dead and hazardous trees. In addition, five trees are proposed to remain and be protected. The project also proposes the removal of eight healthy, non-hazardous trees, with a combined diameter at breast height (DBH) of 156 inches. According to the City of Saratoga Springs Urban and Community Forest Plan, the recommended tree replacement standard is one replacement tree for every eight inches of DBH removed. Based on this guideline, the project would require the planting of 20 replacement trees. The project already includes nine additional trees beyond the number required under City code for street trees. The applicant therefore proposes planting an additional 11 trees either within the project site or at alternative locations within the City, in coordination with the City Arborist. If acceptable, a note will be added to the Layout Plan documenting the requirement for these additional tree plantings. MEMO Date: May 13, 2026 To: Doug Heller From: McKenzie Dombroski, Landscape Designer Re: Garfield Ave. & Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY Tree Investigation On May 6, 2026, I conducted a site visit to evaluate the existing trees on at the Garfield Ave subdivision project site in Saratoga Springs, NY. The purpose of the visit was to measure tree sizes and supplement the December 15, 2025 visit completed by Rob Fraser from our office. The survey had indicated approximate tree sizes but were rounded and not exact. The following is a summary of my evaluation.
