Dear Members of the Design Review Board:
We are writing in support of the proposed condominium development at 64 Washington Street.
We reside at 61 Wiashnizton Street, in the Franklin Square
across the street, from the project site and our unit is located on the top floor facing the proposed
development. As someone who

Before discussing the project itself, we would like to acknowledge the current occupant of
the property, Saratoga Bridges, and the important work it performs in our community.
Saratoga Bridges has long provided valuable services and opportunities for individuals with
developmental challenges in our community, and it is widely respected for its commitment
to those it serves. Our comments regarding the existing site are intended solely to address
the physical characteristics of the building and property, not the quality or importance of
Bridges' mission.
The current site consists of a small si"ngle-story commercial building and a parking area VVIih vei)
limited landscaping, architectural character, or visual appeal. In our view, the property is not
representative of the scale, quall'I'111111111, or architectural character of the surrounding neighborhood..
By contrast, the proposed condoaiiin um building appears thoughtfully designed and more
consistent with. the existing buildings that define this area of- the city. The project would replace
an underutilized site with a well -designed residential building that contributes positiveINT to the
streetscape, enhances the appearance of Washington Street,, and provides a more attractl'%7e
transition within the neighborhood.
As nearby residents whose home directly aces't i-e site, we can. say without hesitation that I would
much rather look out our windows at the proposed. building than at the existing structure and
