Please take care when clicking links or opening attachments. When in doubt, contact IT. Dear Mr. Graham, I hope you are doing well. I am writing to provide the attached photographs regarding the proposed 20240614 Lexington Road / Bemis Heights Subdivision in Saratoga Springs, which is currently under review by the Planning Board. The attachment includes photographic documentation of ongoing beaver activity and associated hydrologic conditions within the subject wetland area. As shown, these images reflect active habitat use, continued dam construction, and resulting water level impacts. This information is provided to clarify current site conditions and to address any prior assumptions that beaver activity has ceased or that the wetland system is stable. The photographs include documentation of fresh beaver activity on trees, multiple active and developing dams, standing water reaching significant depths, and three established beaver lodges within the area. Collectively, they demonstrate that beaver activity is ongoing and expanding, and that the wetland system is being actively modified through dam construction, flooding, and habitat development. Given these conditions, this information has direct relevance to hydrology, drainage patterns, and environmental stability within the project area, and is therefore important for the Board’s environmental review and evaluation of site feasibility. We respectfully request that this submission be distributed to all members of the Planning Board and included as part of the official public record for this application. 4/22/26, 8:12 AM Inbox - Mark Graham - Outlook https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/mail/inbox/id/AAQkAGIxYTcxODdiLTE4ZmUtNDdlMy05MTNlLTA4ZjY5NTFhMDAzMQAQAPiKo25snthEgUbKeH61NuA…1/2 Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. These photographs are provided to clarify current site conditions and to address any prior assumptions that beaver activity has ceased or that the wetland system is stable. The images demonstrate active habitat use, continued dam construction, and resulting water level impacts, all of which are directly relevant to environmental review and site feasibility. Photo Descriptions: Beaver Activity 1: Image shows fresh beaver activity on a tree. Beaver Activity 2: Image shows fresh beaver activity downstream from the primary dam, indicating continued expansion and dam-building activity toward the I-87 corridor. Beaver Dam 1: Image shows recent work on an approximately six-foot-high beaver dam. Beaver Dam 2: Image shows the early formation of a new dam on the BOCES property. Beaver Dam Removal: Image shows site conditions following removal of a beaver dam. Beaver Flooding 1: Image shows standing water reaching depths of approximately four feet. Beaver Lodges 1 and 2: Image shows two established lodges, one positioned beneath the left side of a tree and a second lodge located to the right. Beaver Lodge 3: Image shows a third beaver lodge located approximately 70 yards from Lodges 1 and 2. Google Maps: Image of beaver created lake-like pond Google Maps Outline: Outlined image of beaver created lake-like pond outlined These photographs collectively demonstrate that beaver activity is ongoing and expanding, and that the wetland system is being actively modified through dam construction, flooding, and habitat development. This has direct implications for hydrology, drainage patterns, and environmental stability within the project area. I respectfully request that these materials be included in the official record and considered as part of the Board’s evaluation.
