Comments My carriage house backs up to Long Alley. I'm not opposed to
construction, however the scale of this addition is too big. It's
the same size (if not bigger) as the existing house. North
Broadway and it's homes is such a valued, famous focal point
of our city and it confuses and saddens me as to why
newcomers are so determined to 'update' and 'change' the
aesthetic. In this case, cramming as much structure into a
backyard. My fear is it will end up looking like it's neighbor, 589
N. Broadway, which sticks out like a sore thumb on that street
and more than 2/3 of it's 0.4 acre lot is filled up by concrete, a
huge garage and swimming pool. Please, don't let this happen
to 595!
