Project Name 25 New Street Subdivision Project Number 20240682 Project Address 25 New Street Comments I’m against the proposed plan for the development of the 36 units on New Street. I walk on this trail a lot and have always enjoyed its beauty and worry that this development will deteriorate the trail. It's a great outdoor activity for people who use YMCA. There are many problems with this development and I outline a few of them below: The public still has not been given a complete landscaping plan for the 25 New Street project, and that alone raises major 11/25/25, 9:17 AM Inbox - Mark Graham - Outlook https://outlook.office365.com/mail/inbox/id/AAQkAGIxYTcxODdiLTE4ZmUtNDdlMy05MTNlLTA4ZjY5NTFhMDAzMQAQAKKU5RagcrJLhc621yk%2Bca…1/2 concerns. People deserve to know exactly what trees, shrubs, and plantings are being proposed, especially since the developer intends to remove mature trees and replace them with a vague six-foot buffer that may not offer any real protection for Railroad Run. It is also unclear whether National Grid has even approved tree planting in the 75-foot easement, or whether an additional safety feature will be required because of truck and snow removal operations. Without this information, it’s impossible for the community to assess the actual environmental impact or understand how the trail’s character will change. The public should be able to review these details thoroughly before any approvals move forward. Visual, environmental, and quality of life concerns also remain unaddressed. There has been no explanation of how outdoor storage and building design will be managed to protect the appearance of Railroad Run or whether the new homes will follow restrictions similar to existing deed requirements on the trail. Equally troubling is the lack of meaningful discussion about noise, lighting, and visibility impacts. Noise from nighttime truck deliveries, refrigeration units, and loading operations will become greater without the tress which will have to be cut for this development to take place. Light pollution and increased visibility from the development and Price Chopper and the mall would further erode the natural feel of the trail, turning what is now a quiet green community space into an urbanized development.
