RE: 66 White Farm Road – Exterior Alterations & New Construction
Dear Tamie:
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation reviewed the exterior alterations and new
construction at 66 White Farm Road.
The house located at 66 White Farm Road appears to be a historic Italianate style residence.
The Foundation is currently researching the building to learn the exact date of construction
and information about the owners.
The Foundation is disappointed that the owner made exterior alterations to the historic
building without Design Review Board approval. It is difficult to fully understand the
extent of the exterior alterations that were made to the building. The Foundation
respectfully requests that the Design Review Board seek additional information detailing
the exterior alterations of each façade. Based on what is readily apparent, the Foundation
does not support the changes made to the porch. The wrap-around porch is a character-
defining feature of the house and should be returned to its historic appearance.
The Foundation also has significant concerns about the mass and scale of the proposed
pool house. It respectfully requests that the Design Review Board not review the proposed
pool house until the exterior alterations have been thoroughly reviewed and, if required,
any actions that may be necessary to remedy the work that has taken place without approval
be completed.
