ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION
In the matter of the request for administrative action relating to application
#20250039
115 Union Ave Exterior Modifications
115 Union Ave.
Saratoga Springs, New York 12866
to approve the addition of a column to the original plan, to be in line with historic look of
the porch as shown on the attached historic photo.
The Vice Chairperson of the Design Review Board finds that, in accordance with Section 8.3 of the Rules
and Regulations of the Design Review Board, the requested action is not substantive in nature and is not
contrary to the intent of the original Board decision. Therefore, the request for administrative action, as
described above, is approved.

Hi Julia,
Yes, I'm aware of this and think it is necessary to add the column back to the side porch area.
I am comfortable approving this administratively and confident that the rest of the DRB would also
approve of the restoration of this column.

I was contacted by the representatives for 115 Union.
They came before us in January as they were renovating /repairing the second floor balcony
and posts.

Initially they needed our approval on adding a column on the front (which they then
determined they did not need to add) but have since learned there was originally another
column on the side facing the parking lot that they would like to "add".
Attached, please see the historic photo with the location of the column circled (it's quite
dark and difficult to see but you'll get the idea) as well as a current photo showing the lack
of column. They would like to "add" that back and are looking for approval on that.
Please let me know if you are comfortable approving administratively or if you'd prefer this
goes before the Board.
