The Foundation does not object to the construction of a handicap accessible ramp at the rear of the main structure. Typically, the Foundation does not approve of the use of synthetic materials. However, since it is at the rear of the structure and not visible from the public right-of-way, it does not object. According to Sanborn Fire Insurance Map research, the accessory structure located at the rear of the property was constructed between 1926 and 1948, confirming it is a historic structure (see attached). The Foundation is opposed to its demolition, as accessory structures are vital to understanding the full history of our city's development and the city is increasingly losing these structures. On street 24-hour parking is available on Lake Avenue should additional parking be needed. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration.
