Comments There is no reason to accept a design such as being proposed
for 64 No. Broadway. The proposed building in the midst of the
existing iconic , historical, and architecturally significant
buildings on No. broadway is simply unacceptable. The flat
faced apartment buildings that have cropped up throughout
Saratoga Springs should not be allowed on North Broadway.
There have been significant apartment buildings built that fit in
with the surrounding areas (e.g., Skidmore Building on Union
ave, several buildings on Broadway). There is obviously no

attempt to be anything but build a financially driven sore thumb
on a hand of special attractive iconic buildings. Flat roofs, flat
faced monoliths have no real appeal in the midst of the houses
and structures along No. Broadway. When we did the back
addition to the firehouse it was mandated that we use
brick...not cement board. Apparently things have changed
where a building on No. broadway doesn't require special
appearance considerations. Please send them back to the
drawing board with a challenge to modify the structure to better
fit the neighborhood's... "look, feel. and appeal". Thanks
