In May I signed a new lease with West Side Management . In July we were told
there will be , assive construction surrounding us, that it was a done deal
and that there was no recourse.
It would have been honorable to let tenants know of this plan before we
committed ourselves to another year (with a substantial rent and fee
increase) .
Members of the Planning, Board did not have to consider the impact on tenants
when they approved initial construction
We are asking you now to consider:
*Grove tenants signed a new lease — or recently moved in — to a building
where we were promised quiet enjoyment of our premises in return for our
rent.
*We were not warned that we were signing up for the chaos that construction
of 91 new apartments will bring.
*Some of us might have renewed our lease anyway. We like it here.
Which does not mean we would not fight this disruptive project .
In conclusion, from what I've been told the building is fully rented. This
fact alone should indicate a solid foundation for future, reasonable profit .
I'm asking the Board revisit the initial approval.
