RE: 624 North Broadway – Demolition
Dear Tamie:
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation reviewed the proposed demolition
of 624 North Broadway.
The building located at 624 North Broadway was built in 1968 by the Jehovah’s
Witness Congregation. It later became home to the Unitarian Universalist
Congregation of Saratoga Springs. Although the wood-frame, front gable, one-
story building is more than 50 years old, it is not a noteworthy example of mid-
century architecture. The building is identified as a non-contributing resource to the
Broadway Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is
not eligible for individual listing.
The Foundation does not believe the building has architectural or historic
significance. Therefore, it does not oppose the demolition. It is important that the
post-demolition plan is in keeping with the historic character of North Broadway.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,
Michele Funiciello Samantha Bosshart
