Hi Julia, The front facade is 98' by my calculations that would mean 147 sq ft would be allowed? I have attached a rendering of signs that are non lit. They do want to stick with the size of the sign as proposed. Would we just need to go for a variance for the height, that being said? Do we go to DRC and then ZBA? Thanks! Exterior mounted transformer boxes for electric wall signs are prohibited in the Historic Review Overlay District, and the NC and UC Districts. We need the length of the facade of the building to determine if the total sign area is in compliance as well. The guidelines indicate that the maximum total wall sign area is 1.5 sq per linear foot of business frontage. The height of the leer will need to be reduced to 18". Depending on the length of the business frontage, the circular wall sign may need to be reduced to fit into the guideline of 1.5 sq per linear foot, but I need that measurement to determine that. Please proposed an alternate illuminaon for the sign as well; channel-lit signs are prohibited.
