Comments As a nearby resident of the Audrey-Excelsior Springs
intersection and a frequent neighborhood dog-walker and biker,
I would like the Planning Board to consider including either a
sidewalk or multi-use path on both Audrey and Excelsior
Springs Avenue as part of the 16 Excelsior Spring Ave Area
Variance Application. The past several years have witnessed a
significant influx of young families into our neighborhood. There
are dozens of children under the age of 5 who are walking and
learning to bike on our streets. Their parents are terrified by the

lack of pedestrian walkways. The Spring Run trail is so close
yet so inaccessible to pedestrians of all ages and to bikers. See
the attached photo - bikers must ride in the lane of traffic on a
steep hill blind "S" curve segment of Excelsior Ave with no
shoulders. Given the new construction below on Excelsior-
Excelsior Springs intersection, this situation will become even
more dangerous. A relatively short section of path will create
wonderful opportunities for Saratogians to safely get out and
enjoy our fair city. Thanks for your attention and forward
thinking on this matter.
