One recent letter writer stated that "years ago a hotel stood at that site and looked a lot like the picture on the application". The neighborhood has changed since that time and we don't need a condo building that looks like a hotel in our neighborhood. The project is too big. They don't live there and will not add anything to the neighborhood. The condo building on Union Ave is an example of that, it is like a ghost town, you never see anyone there. A plan B is needed, A smaller structure that matches the character of the neighborhood. Several single family homes would be better than the "hotel". The Waldorf school at the end of White St. is almost unrecognizable, the historic building is cloaked by two large garages on either side. There is no room for green space. I guess if you are paying 2 million for a condo you expect a garage. If you look around the neighborhood you will see most of us don't have a garage and we do just fine.
