Project Address 36 Hyde St Saratoga Springs, NY Comments I live at 48 Hyde St. I am in support of the variance denial for 36 Hyde St. it would set an unnecessary precedent for the character of The neighborhood by allowing an improperly submitted building plan be retroactively supported by a variance . The current variance in the neighborhood supports the unique charm and neighborly disposition that exists on the west side. I also 137 Ash St which is 1 block over from 36 Hyde St and I was denied 5/12/25, 11:46 AM Mail - Mark Graham - Outlook https://outlook.office365.com/mail/inbox/id/AAQkAGIxYTcxODdiLTE4ZmUtNDdlMy05MTNlLTA4ZjY5NTFhMDAzMQAQAEvrINiSNAxEldjFcsw946g%3D 1/2 10 years ago by the zoning board an appeal to convert it to a 2 family home. . It had two front entrances. It had two electric meters. My aunt had opened up the house to better access to her parents who lived there. I was denied a variance to make this a legally zoned 2 family because the board said it interfered with the residential style of The neighborhood. It is today a single family home and does indeed support the area character of 1 family residences. I appreciate the value of keeping neighborhoods special for the families that live there. I am grateful for the guidance of the zoning board at that time. It was the right decision. In this quiet neighborhood on Hyde St. There are 3 other detached garages close by that could apply for variances if This denial is not upheld as previously decided.
