Susan, I just found out that I am on the agenda for tomorrow ’s meeng for SEQRA review/determinaon. I am reaching out regarding the stormwater contaminaon concerns. Last meeng it was asked if there are passive migaon strategies to prevent fuel from entering the public stormwater system. I menoned this oil stop valve that we’ve used in the past. Please see aached. This would go in a structure downstream from any detenon capacity that we have which could contain a spill. The float is heavier than fuel and controls the valve prevenng any fuel from leaving the site stormwater system in the unlikely event of a spill. Can you please share this with the board, and I can talk through it if there are sll concerns. Thank you. Ryan Rubado (Rub-uh-dew) Designer/Project Coordinator P.O. The OSV is an economical option used to confine hydrocarbon spills to the premises for safe disposal. Contech’s OSV is fabricated from either non-corrosive Stainless Steel or PVC and has only one moving part, the ballasted float. When an oil spill occurs, the float loses buoyancy as the free-floating oil depth increases until it finally seats on the discharge port, closing and confining the spill. Applications Consider the OSV for those applications where oil spills are possible, but unpredictable.
