RE: 44 Fifth Avenue- Garage Construction
Dear Tamie,
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation reviewed the proposed design for the new two-
car garage.
The circa 1915 Tudor Revival house is a contributing building to the East Side Historic District
listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Foundation does not object to the design of the new garage. However, it has concerns with
the proximity of the garage to the primary residence. Per the Historic District Guidelines for
new construction, Accessory Building, “The placement of accessory structures should be
consistent with other secondary structures in the neighboring area.” The proposed location is
not in-keeping with other accessory structures on Tipton Lane. The Foundation recommends
moving the proposed garage closer to the alley.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,
Michele Funiciello Samantha Bosshart
