PIN OAK:
Develops iron chlorosis if soil PH is greater than 7.5. Currently also prone to oak
wilt that’s been confirmed in NY State. Cornell update on tree:

QUAKING ASPEN
At best case, a 20 year life span. Prone to diseases and insects and all web sites
say “requires lot of maintenance.”
WHITE PINE
Grow 75 to 100’ with spread to 30-40’
In New York, currently subject to white pine decline caused by pine beetles. Very
sensitive to air pollution.
SPICEBUSH
Native and well suited, but can also be invasive and may overrun mixed plantings
