Project Address Mohr's Service Center (239 Washington St) Comments I am extremely concerned about the impact that this project will have on our neighborhood. This piece of land is directly behind our property. Below is a list of concerns: The forest not only provides a sound barrier from all the 10/9/24, 10:03 AM Mail - Julia Destino - Outlook https://outlook.office365.com/mail/inbox/id/AAQkADI5NDIzZGRiLTQwNjEtNGM1MS05ZmQxLTUyZTNkMzFiZDJiZQAQAM%2BOMfKbmytHunhjW3Ej…1/2 increased traffic on West Ave, but it also helps protect the neighborhood from all the pollution from that traffic The filling in of the wetlands could lead to an increased risk of flooding in basements and homes since wetlands act like sponges, absorbing and storing excess rainwater during storms, reducing the risk of flooding in residential areas With all the increased development on West Ave, comes increased traffic. People will be looking to avoid the traffic by cutting through our residential neighborhood. This project will have additional environmental impacts, including habitat loss and reduced water filtration and carbon sequestration, and is inconsistent with the objectives stated in the 2015 Comprehensive Plan: “The overriding philosophy that will guide future development of our "City in the Country" will be sustainability.” (2015 Comprehensive Plan, p. iv) I urge the city to reconsider allowing these wetlands to be filled in.
