Comments Hello Zoning Board Members,
I am writing to disagree with the interior side setback variance
requested by Lori Sames for her property at 128 & 132
Washington Street.
I understand that the Ms. Sames desire is to build a two family
home on the property but it appears as though she is going well
over the size limit of the land with the desired two family home
she would like to build. Her desire to have a two family home is
drastically infringing on mine and my neighbors back yard set

backs. We are already in a unique situation where our back
yards are her side yard and thus the set backs are unique. The
fact that she is trying to put a third parking spot on the property
as required by the two family home build out, she is by taking
away much needed green space is ridiculous. Again, as I
stated in my comments from the 9/9/2024 meeting, set backs
were established to protect the land rights of both parties
backing up to them. It now looks like there is no regard for my
set back requirement which is greatly needed so I have some
level of green space between our structures. I feel as though a
two story two family home would be more in keeping with the
aesthetics of the neighborhood and would comfortably fit on the
property while maintaining the required set backs.
The city of Saratoga Springs worked hard to establish the new
setbacks requirement to maintain
the quality of life of all residents and I strongly object to
allowing this variance that is not a
critical need to development on the 128 & 132 Washington
Street property.
Thank you for taking the time to read my comments and I
appreciate all you do in your capacity as zoning board
members. I look forward to hearing the outcome of the meeting
and am sorry that I am unable to attend. Constance
