Comments Thank you for the opportunity to comment. The proposed
addition of 16 units, with significant deviations from current
zoning standards, should not be approved. While the applicant
claims these variances are minor, the proposed lot sizes,
maps, and setbacks differ substantially from the established
neighborhood. The applicant's argument that increased
wetlands justify higher population density/smaller lots/variances
is flawed—this logic could extend to unreasonable
developments elsewhere. Moreover, adding homes adjacent to
wetlands would harm the already compromised Lake Lonely

due to increased runoff, fertilizers, and road salts. "The
wetlands are getting bigger" is not a reason to vary from zoning
standards and pack more homes in to an area surrounded by
wetlands..
Exiting the development on Route 29 is already hazardous, and
adding 16-32 more cars will worsen safety concerns, potentially
increasing speeding on Lexington Road.
Additionally, fire safety access issues exist, and approving a
variance here could/would expose the city to liability.
In short
The proposed development significantly diverges from the
existing single-family neighborhood
Increases traffic
Impacts wetlands
Violates fire safety codes. (see attached)
