Dear Members of the Council,
On behalf of Wesley Health Care Center, Inc., I submit the attached proposal for a city zoning amendment.
Woodlawn Oval consists of Wesley Health Care Center, a 352-bed long term care facility; Embury
Apartments, 192 federally subsidized senior apartments; and Woodlawn Commons, 60 independent living
market -rate senior apartments & 40 assisted living senior apartments. All three entities are 501c3 not for
profit corporations.
The proposed amendment to the Woodlawn Oval PUCD, which encompasses 36.55 acres, seeks to remove
parcel number 165.35-2-2 from the PUCD. The subject parcel is 0.79 acres. The reason for this request is to
enable WHCC to sell the parcel as a residential building lot, upon approval.
Please find attached the petition for the zoning amendment as well as the Short Environmental Assessment
form. It is my understanding that this application must be reviewed by the Saratoga Springs Planning Board
and the Saratoga County Planning Board before the Council can take action.
I look forward to presenting this application to the Saratoga Springs City Council, and to answer any
questions you may have.
