Re: High Peaks Canna Inc. Site Plan Application I37MapleAvenue (the
"Application')
Dear Chair Marshall and Planning Board Members:
We represent High Peaks Canna Inc., applicant in the above matter. Pursuant to the Board's
request made at the workshop meeting last we attached please find an addifional rendering of
the proposed landscaping, including identification information.
This submission includes additional landscaping, not previously proposed, along the
boundary with the adjacent residential lot, consisting of eight arborvitae trees that will grow to ten
to fifteen feet at maturity. Additionally, our client explored planting trees in the "tree belt" along
the sidewalk. This week, a utility mark -out revealed that the power line associated with the street
lamps is located in the center of the tree belt, thus rendering planting not feasible. See attached
phots. In lieu of this, our client proposes planting a Japanese Maple between the building and the
sidewalk, which will grow to fifteen to twenty feet at maturity.
Our client also consulted with the New York State Department of Transportation relative
to the fence that nms between the property and Route 50. The fence is a NYSDOTRight-of--Way
fence. NYSDOT advises against planting along the Right -of -Way fence, so as to not interfere with
its maintenance activities. Our client has observed dead trees and vines in the area of the NYSDOT
fence that have previously been removed to allow for such maintenance. In light of this, our client
is no longer proposing to trees along the fence.

The collective landscaping enhancements as set forth in our previous submittal and this
supplemental submission will materially enhance the aesthetic appeal of this existing structure.
We look forward to appearing before the Board again tomorrow evening.
Sincerely,
