I currently live at 101 State Street (side door, Apt. 1) with my husband, Brian Wager. I was born and raised in this same house/neighborhood, and have lived here a majority of my life . I have raised my 3 children here, as well as making countless memories with my 6 grandchildren in this neighborhood . This is a fairly quiet, friendly neighborhood with a "hometown" atmosphere where at any given time, you can see people enjoying walks with their children/dogs, riding bikes, etc. Since my first grandchild was born in 2001, the city-owned playground on Clement Avenue has been nicknamed by all of my grandchildren as " Poppy's Playground '. due to the amount of time my husband has spend with our grandchildren at that playground . If this permit is granted , I fear that the safety of the children enjoying this playground, as well as all pedestrians pets, could be at risk considering the extra traffic this property could generate. Parking in that area is already at a minimum, at best, especially during sporting events at the field . It was recently brought to our attention that this property has been advertised on Airbnb as '' ideal for entertaining" . As previously stated, this is a quiet neighborhood and granting this permit would no doubt lead to excessive noise, more traffic, and countless other public safety issues especially if alcohol is involved to an extreme . It is our hope that these concerns will be taken into consideration and request that this particular permit be denied .
