Dear Zoning Board of Appeals:
We are the owners of 61 Fifth Avenue and adjoin the eastern property line of our neighbors, the Ottos.
They have advised us of their plans to construct an addition to their home to meet the growing needs of
their family. We understand that a side yard variance will be required in order to proceed with construction.
We have examined the plans which consist of a new single story building attached to the existing garage
and extending north into their back yard. We find the plans to be an efficient use of their property having
minimal impact on our property. We had planned for some time to replace our aging hedge along our
shared property line and can now address the type and height of our replanting to best buffer the new
addition. We therefore believe the variance should be approved as it provides relief to the Ottos with no
adverse impact on us or any other of our neighbors.
