To Julia Destino, Adm. Assistant/OPED,
I am the resident homeowner of 89 Ludlow St. which is across the street for
Dave Norton’s property. I am writing in reference to his request for a
subdivision of his property.
I am concerned about the precedent that would be set by a subdivision. Nearly
all homes on our block have units/historic structures that are unique to
Saratoga in their back yards--that are either currently being used as short
term rentals or could be converted (or knocked down) and rebuilt into short
term rental situations. Mr. Norton’s request would seemingly open the door
for almost every one of these properties to be subdivided into two if
allowed. Subdivisions and back lot structures are more likely to attract
investors rather than potential permanent homeowners, which could quickly
change the residential nature of our street.
Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter,
Mary Parliman
