Comments I frequently walk down Excelsior from Lake Ave (as do many
people) to use the Spring Run Trail. This road is a serious
hazard without any shoulder or sidewalks (and poor visibility of
people with the curve) and I honestly can't believe someone
hasn't been hit by a car. There are no sidewalks to take people
from the trail up to lake ave up the hill and this is a highly
trafficked road. Adding more residential units will just increase
the traffic and the risk. The planning board should fine solutions
that take the "complete streets" initiative into account. In the
winter it is nearly impossible to walk on this street due to snow
banks and no shoulder. Prior to granting any approvals for
building (which means trucks and construction vehicles)
pedestrian safety and traffic needs to be addressed.
