The same thing happened on Congress and Broadway when the other behemoth was built. Both times rather than correct the buildout, like any other citizen, both times I believe the construction companies opted to pay fines and continue to do pretty much want they wanted regardless of public opinion, codes and pedestrian safety. You really need to get this right this time. The safety of pedestrian s, respect for our historical views and walkways, and stairs and adjacent ramps are just another place for accidents, problems for walkers, carriages and people being pushed into narrowing areas that should be open with easy access to the intersection that already is too narrow.
