Comments I ask the DRB to consider rejecting the proposed sidewalk
changes for 395 Broadway. The wide sidewalks of Broadway
are part of the city's historic character as seen up and down our
downtown area. This style and design does not seem
consistent with the sidewalks and entrances of the the many
historic and new buildings along Broadway, which maintain the
wide sidewalk and avoid infringing on the width with any step-
up/grade changes. The gradual progression of the stairs seems
to create future pedestrian safety hazards. These issues seem
easily remedied through modifications to the design to the
interior grade without impacting the overall intended design of
the building or utility of the entrances. Thank you for your
consideration!
