A location within a natural setting is consistent with our principles and preserving the authentic beauty of this setting would be one of our major priorities. Another major priority of ours is responding to the needs of our neighbors. We have resided in another neighborhood, that of Upper Broadway, for the last 20 years. Although we do not have any members who live on that street, to my knowledge we have received no complaints, and substantial kindnesses from our neighbors. At the Nov. 30 public hearing, I was saddened to hear negative comments about our application from six speakers of the Bog Meadow neighborhood. In retrospect, I think they are reasonable concerns. I might have had them myself. It seems to me that Mr. Anthony has proposed good solutions for all of these concerns in his letter oof Dec. 22. I know that our congregation will be highly committed to making them work. Please give us this opportunity to make this relationship between a church and the Bog Meadow community a very positive one.
