Comments While I’m currently the president of SSPF .. I know the key
items of concern have been already stated so I won’t revisit
them except to state that I completely concur with SSPF’s
position.
As a local resident that restored a historic home that is now a
thriving business I do feel I have an appropriate perspective to
add further commentary.
That building like ours had a history that contributed to the
fabric of our community ..I am in complete favor of the project
but only if a priority of the project protects salvageable and
relevant attributes of the building such as the beautiful roof or
at the very least an appropriate evaluation of the costs to keep
it. There should be sone type of agreement as to a better
timeline for renovation to keep it from going into further
disrepair. Whether a historic building is in our outside the
historic district should not preclude it from being safeguarded
as much as possible. I’m sure many of you as I have driven by
that property wishing it could be restored .. please keep that
buildings worthiness in mind as your making your decisions
Thank- you all for all you do for our community !
