Dear Planning Boards Members,
I am writing regarding the proposed use for 118 Woodlawn Ave which I am vehemently opposed to.
As a mother of three children in this area I am concerned for their safety along with my neighbors.
A business like this is not in keeping with this residential neighborhood. This neighborhood has many
people of all ages who are out and about walking, biking, and playing. The increase of traffic that was
proposed away from Van Dam would bring traffic straight through areas that are highly utilized by
pedestrians of all ages.
Vermont street to Clinton or Woodlawn to Greenfield Ave are quiet neighborhoods where the families
and neighbors like to gather outside and enjoy the area in which we all live. Putting a “Private
Business Club” in this area would be detrimental to the makeup of this RESIDENTIAL area. Saratoga
is bustling with other options for the private meetings, there are many restaurants with private rooms,
office building and other established private clubs that could achieve the same results without
disrupting and changing the landscape of our friendly neighborhood.
The intersection of Woodlawn and Van Dam is already a cluster of crazy when trying to cross with
either a car or pedestrian. An establishment that of this kind, with the proposed hours would cause
more danger to all in that area.

A couple of the main reasons that I moved to Saratoga over 20 years ago was that they protected the
integrity of the town and that is so friendly to traffic and pedestrians alike. Over the years I have seen
how much this has changed as the population increases and continuous building occurs. Please
consider the quality of life for those that are living so close to this proposed project and how many
would be impacted if this were approved. I hope that the greater safety of the residents of this friendly
Saratoga neighborhood will be weighed heavy on your decision!
Respectfully,
Carrie B Johnson
