Comments
I am writing to echo the concerns expressed by my White
Street neighbors regarding the proposed 151 & 153 Nelson
Avenue Subdivision project at 151 & 153 Nelson Avenue.
Street parking is a perennial issue on White Street - particularly
during the summer months. The proposed project will only
exacerbate this issue.
The fact that “the barn” may be deemed an historic structure
should also be considered. Obviously, once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Structures designated as such need appropriate consideration -
and possibly protection.
In addition, it’s important to realize that a large, mature tree
located at the adjoining property at 131 White Street could be
destroyed as a result of this project. The use of heavy
equipment to excavate the area could very well damage and/or
destroy the large, deep root system.
Thank you for taking our neighborhood’s concerns into account
as you deliberate.
