First and foremost, we apologize that we can not relay this information in person. The points below are in reference to the 632 Broadway application, and the concernswe have about the impact it will have on our home and the street.
Ultimately we would like the board to allow more time to go over the applicants planswith our neighbor and their consultants and ours. We were just made aware of this project a few days ago.
We are not against the overall plan, but we do have concerns and code issues pertaining to some issues listed below.
A. Concerned about sound from placement of pool equipment, plan shows that it wouldface our living room door and windows with no sound or visual buffer, it would bebuffered from thier view with a privacy fence.
B. Concern about added runoff toward us, caused by garage roof and pool deck, thereland slopes down toward our lot
C. What is the code for distance on wood construction on combustibly.
D. Survey does not show the removal of Ginkgo tree or row hedge.
E. Is blasting going to be needed, depth of bedrock is a question, no Geo-Tec provided,Would be concerned about our stone foundation and any vibration problems.
F. Site plan does not show any outdoor lighting.
G. Plan does not show the set back for garage taking into consideration the roof eaves.
H. How does Section 13.9, H, 2 which talks about scale, mass and open space and proportion affect this project.
We have lived and been a part of the Saratoga Springs community for over 50 years.We have always been proponents of the historical integrity of the city through our workin the restorations of both our home and various properties. While we support thegrowth of the city, we feel that it is important that projects respect the neighborhoodsand their historical significances.
