Comments I am writing because I do not support this project. I live on
Larkspur Drive, which is an intersection on Adams Rd. The
neighborhood already deals with speeding at all hours of the
day as a cut through of other industry on Adams Rd. My house
sits at a stop sign with Karner Dr where an elementary school
stop is located and there is hardly a car that makes a full stop
and doesn't speed past my house. Speaking of elementary
students, the congestion from the Geyser School Adams Rd
drop/pick entrance, Veterans Park, Miss Softball and water
sprinkler parking already tie up a busy road. There is no
sidewalk for people to walk safely and large trucks consistently
park on the side of the road. This project is proposed to be built
on a winding and twisty country road that is not safe for large
vehicles. This means most traffic will pass the school and park
area to the light on Geyser Rd. Creating more congestion and a
safety concern for those on the new bicycle path.
Noise pollution is an additional concern. In the winter time, with
less tree coverage, I can hear machinery from the current
industrial residents, not to mention the occasion chemical
smell. I already see the lovely forest on Adams cut back in
preparation. The project will no doubt hurt the wildlife in the
vicinity. The project's location close to the Rowland Hollow
Creek Reserve is also an environmental concern
The southwest neighborhood of Saratoga Springs has made a
strong effort to connect to the city's many landmarks and
resources. The bicycle path to SPAC and the Spa Park with
easy access to the YMCA and the Railroad trail and path have
made the neighborhood a good investment for families. It is a
shame that so little care is being put into the health, welfare,
and safety of the people who live here.
