Comments Dear Saratoga Springs Planning Board,
I oppose the Duplainville Site Plan as it is currently submitted;
the clear cut and proximity of the factory to Adams Road will
severely degrade the character of our neighborhood.
Residents of this neighborhood are mostly young families. Our
children do not deserve to breathe gravel dust and listen to
truck engines while playing or selling lemonade. Without tree
screening, the noise and storage yard lights will keep newborns
and tired parents awake all year. Many teenagers are learning
to drive on this road, and close factory operations will only add
to their distraction and pressure. Also, those of us with
daughters have reservations about welcoming workers within
150 feet of their bedrooms.
All of these concerns could be alleviated by increasing the site
setback and maintaining a mature tree buffer.
Please consider placing an additional 50-100 feet of no-cut
setback between Adams Road and the proposed berm. This
will only reduce the factory footprint by 3-5% but save millions
of dollars in property value and provide our families with safety,
protection, and peace. Hundreds are concerned, many are
considering moving. This is a very small request for our families
that would have no impact on the site’s productivity.
Kids don’t choose where they grow up. At this stage, only you
can approve a site plan that protects the environment of the
children of Adams Road, Rip Van Lane, and Larkspur drive.
Thank you for your consideration and for your service to the
City.
