The project is located at 53 Putnam Street and is zoned UC Urban Core (T-6). The property is
served by public water and sanitary sewer services and is located within a historic zoning overlay district.
The proposed Putnam Commons is a six (6) story mixed-use, multifamily new construction
project. The total gross square footage for the project is 53,480 square feet, with 3900 square
feet of commercial space on the first floor and five floors of residentia l units above. The
building accommodates forty (40) apartment units total, with 20 two-bedroom / two-bath
units, 10 two-bedroom / one-bath units, and 10 one-bedroom / one-bath units. The apartments
will be offered for sale with a mix of market-rate and affordable housing units.
Podium construction is proposed, which includes one story of steel construction and five stories
of wood construction above. The overall building height will not exceed 70’. The exterior
cladding materials include standard-size brick veneer and fiber cement lap and panel cladding.
The windows will be aluminum-clad double-hung with full glass sliding doors at the balconies.
The project will support tenant parking off-site with 50 spaces leased in the Civic Center Parking
Garage.
