The request to divide the current lot (166.61-1-7) into two lots, so that a new residential home can be built will directly impact the historical nature of this block on Caroline Street. As owners in the historical district of Saratoga Springs, we are under quite stringent regulation by the design review and historical review boards, should we need to fix any portion of our dwelling. How can an entirely new structure be held to the same standards? How can the plans be in adherence to the same design esthetics that we are held to? To our knowledge, a new build has not been completed in our neighborhood in areas that fall under the historic umbrella. Allowing this variance so that a NEW structure can be built between two historic structures will certainly change the neighborhood. Attach Photo (optional)Field not completed.
