In the matter of the application
#20220912
Mouzon House Porch Modifications
1 York Street
Saratoga Springs, New York 12866
Involving Modifications to an approval for exterior modifications (new porch materials and colors, new stained
glass panels) within the Transect-6 Urban Core district in an Architectural Review District, tax parcel #165.52-1-
52, within the City of Saratoga Springs.
In accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617, the Design Review Commission classifies this request as a SEQR:
Type II action exempt from further SEQR review
And, in accordance with the objectives, standards and guidelines contained in the City Zoning Ordinance Article
240-7.5 Architectural Review, the Design Review Commission issues the following decision on February 1, 2023:
Approve with the following conditions:
1. The porch modifications to be built as originally presented:
The lowering of the railings to the previously approved height with the booster rail
Return to the 3-color palette, as originally presented, including the painting of the window trim
Installing the surround on the porch framing and the framing of the panels on the porch
Removing the stained glass panels
Lattice work shall be what was originally approved
2. Light fixture may remain, applicant to submit cut sheet for the record.
3. Applicant to meet with Real Estate Committee to regarding the Right-of-Way issues with the
porch overhang. Applicant to return for further review of the overhang in the case that it is not be
able to be built as originally approved.
Note: this approval shall expire 18 months from the issuance date unless any necessary building permit has been
issued and actual work begun.
Record of vote: motion to approve made by T. Ehinger, seconded by L. DiCarlo: passed 6-0
