Box 272 | Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 | 518.450.4030 December 16, 2022 Mr. Jon Famosi Re: Tree Disposition, Famosi Property Corner 313 Jefferson Street and 1 Taylor Street City of Saratoga Springs, NY Dear Mr. Famosi: As per your request, we have reviewed the disposition of existing trees and those which were removed on the above-referenced property. We understand that certain trees, mostly tall white pine trees, have been removed as per your direction due to safety concerns. We previously visited the parcel with you on January 14, 2022 and witnessed numerous fallen branches from such pine trees on the property. We also noted that several had damaged crowns. As such, we concur with you that they presented a safety concern to both you and adjacent neighbors and were correctly removed, however, without city approval. In order to ameliorate this situation, we understand that you agree to re-plant street trees along Taylor Street. We have reviewed a preliminary site plan which proposes to construct a new house on the corner parcel with driveway accessing Taylor Street. We suggest that four Little Leaf Linden (Tilia Cordata) or Sugar Maple (Acer Saccharum) 2 ½ to 3” cal. be planted between the curb line and sidewalk. The attachment sketch generally provides a location of the four trees. We suggest that they be added to the proposed site plans (prepared by others) to accommodate your site plan review application to the City Planning Board. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call. Yours truly, S. Jeffrey Anthony, RLA, ASLA for Studio A Landscape Architecture and Engineering, DPC
