The lane is lined with beautiful mature trees and is how I access my garage and parking in the back.The lane is https://m.saratoga-springs.org/h/printmessage?id-8720681z=America/New York _: 1/2 6/18/2019 Zimbra also fenced and blocked off at the end, adding to its privacy and security. l met with the builders and the property owners and submitted a letter to them on May 14, 2010 with my concerns and suggestions, most related to maintaining my privacy and property value: 1) keep Gurtler Lane permanently blocked at the end, 2) detour traffic from coming down the lane with signs, 3) block hotel noise and activity by building a tall permanent structure along the hotel border, and 4) keep the mature trees along the border(including arborvitaes). There are also safety issues related to having Gurtler lane be a second hotel entrance off Lincoln -that's already an extremely busy, unsafe traffic area. I've attached pictures. I don't know if my letter was taken seriously as the blueprint submitted to the City still shows Gurtler open at the end and there is no indication of a barrier structure or mature trees but I trust the Planning Board will do the right thing. I truly hope we can work together to make this venture as painless as possible for all parties. I bought my house four years ago, primarily for its private location between quiet Gurtler Lane and even quieter Greenridge Cemetery. Gurtler Lane is the only access I have to my driveway and garage so it is my only entry/exit to my home. The Lane has a barrier fence at the south end preventing drive-through traffic and it is lined with large, mature trees, including several tall arborvitaes, which block motel activity and provide me with a sense of privacy. This is especially important during the summer months. Though Gurtler Lane is blocked at the south end with little traffic activity, entering/exiting at the north end of Gurtler Lane, at Lincoln Avenue, is always a dangerous challenge and certainly increased traffic activity caused by your current proposed plan will be a burden and an added risk. I am also concerned that increased activity on Gurtler Lane will impact my property value. In general, I am not opposed to the hotel concept as I do feel it will be a site improvement but I am not pleased with the disruption this process will cause and it's potential long-term negative impact on my privacy, safety, business, property value and quality of life. My house is only 50 feet from the Turf and Spa motel and I work from home everyday. During the motel demolition and hotel construction phases, the noise, dust, dirt, and work intrusion will certainly disrupt my living space and my business. During hotel operation, lighting and car activity (lights, car doors, keyless entry beeps) in your parking lot at night will likely be unfair nuisances to me. Therefore, I would like the following to occur to ensure a) Gurtler Lane remains unused by non-residents at both ends thereby stopping drive in/out traffic associated with the hotel and the Thirsty Owl; b) reduced intrusion while the hotel is being built; and c) my privacy during the hotel operation. 1. South end of Gurtler Lane. Do not open up the south end of Gurtler Lane. At the May 6th meeting we were told that the south end of Gurtler Lane at the hotel property line would not be impacted by your plans but your blueprints show otherwise. They show south Gurtler Lane open to traffic with no proposed barrier. The current fence needs to be replaced with a high permanent structure that prohibits traffic driving to and from the hotel parking lot.
