Regarding: 139 State Street Application for Variance
Dear Board Members,
As a resident of 124 State Street and neighbor to 139 State Street, the residence of Karen Lazar, I am in
favor of the requested Variance allowing for the proper renovation of the existing garage area of her
home.
As I'm confident you have observed, the home is an exquisite example of the architecture and clearly
represents the history Saratoga Springs.This home has been in the process of renovation for the past
several years, and certainly is coming along beautifully, with the garage area being a remaining area of
the home needing renovation.This renovation needs to be done in a manner providing both esthetics
complimentary to the home's architecture while meeting the functional needs of its family.As a home
builder in the City of Saratoga Springs, I understand how the City's existing zoning guidelines have been
long standing and often creates undue constraints on a homeowner when trying to renovate or
construct a home that meets both the existing zoning and the family's needs.Your approval of this
variance will provide the necessary flexibility needed to accomplish both.
Please grant this Area Variance allowing for renovation of the needed garage area located at 139 State
Street,
