RE: 30 Caroline Street—New Construction
Dear Tamie:
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation reviewed the various revised plans that were
Board of Directors submitted for the new construction at 30 Caroline Street.
Michele Funiciello
Pesdent The Foundation appreciates the various design concepts that have been provided by the
snela sperlng applicant. After a thoughtful review, the Foundation feels that design Scheme C, dated
Ve Pesdent September 19, 2022, is most in keeping with the historic context of the neighborhood.
Lnda L.xaey However, the Foundation continues to have significant concerns about the overall height
seeta of the structure, therefore it recommends that the set-back fifth floor be removed, for a
stepnen Kyne maximum cornice height of 50'6" feet. In addition, the Foundation recommends the use
Teasue of an elevator with a machine-room-less design and that the applicant provide a plan
Tiffany Blair showing the placement of all mechanicals.
